Actor Vindu Dara Singh has voiced his disappointment with the makers of Adipurush, accusing them of distorting the legacy of actors who worked in the iconic

TV series Ramayana. Singh's father, the late actor Dara Singh, portrayed the role of Lord Hanuman in the Ramanand Sagar show. Vindu expressed his dissatisfaction with the portrayal of Hanuman in Adipurush, stating that the actor playing the role (Devdatta Nage) is unable to speak proper Hindi and that the character has been altered through the dialogues given to him.

He believes the filmmakers may have aimed to target the younger generation, influenced by Marvel movies like Thor, but feels they have failed in their attempt.

The actor emphasized that no one can undermine or come close to his father's onscreen portrayal of Hanuman, regardless of any future adaptations of the Ramayana. He described the efforts of others as their best within their capabilities and knowledge but criticized the makers of Adipurush for their shameful treatment of the character and their inability to match his father's legacy.

Vindu himself has portrayed the role of Lord Hanuman multiple times, including in the film Jai Veer Hanuman (1995) and various musical plays such as Jai Shri Ram Ramayana. Adipurush has faced criticism since its release for allegedly distorting the epic mythological tale.

Expressing his disappointment with the film, Vindu stated that the makers of Adipurush failed to live up to the standards set by the original Ramayana series. He questioned their intentions and lamented their missed opportunity to create a magnificent movie with a substantial budget, instead deeming it a lousy production that deviated from the original story.

Vindu specifically highlighted the inappropriate portrayal of pivotal scenes, such as Ravan's Lanka being depicted as black-stone instead of the legendary golden city, and the introduction of dragons into the narrative. He expressed his disappointment and called these changes to the story "disrespectful" and "disappointing."
